Who’s equally delighted to see the back of an impossible year?! As a Cotswolds Wedding Photographer, it was nice to end the year with a local wedding in Chipping Camden. This wedding marks the last of my 2020 shoots! A tough year for real weddings, but I ended on a high!
Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic with constantly fluctuating restrictions is another level of head f*cks! If it was 3 weeks earlier, or 3 days later, it could have been banned completely, but Bea & Andrew picked the perfect date.
The ceremony took place at The Church of St Peter and St Paul, Blockley but was live streamed all over the world, with even Andrew’s parents watching in Australia and Bea’s sister watching from Sweden. In true British winter wedding fashion, the rain was chucking it down, to the point where I was driving through floods to get home. But we got their couple portraits done in the church and a lovely sheltered ‘marketplace’ in Chipping Camden, just outside the reception venue. After all, bad weather wasn’t going to stop us getting the perfect photos.
The guests finally got to ditch the masks as they went on to have a delicious sit down meal at the Cotswold House Hotel, on small tables restricted to members of the same household. The beautiful bride baked and decorated a delicious cake. And then speeches with a game of word bingo (who wants to bet COVID slipped into at least one speech?) and a first dance.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Crossley!
