As a Cotswolds wedding photographer (and a Sudeley Castle recommended supplier), it’s always special shooting close to home. But Hope and Tristan’s Sudeley Castle wedding felt extra magical. Just five minutes from my doorstep, this iconic venue became the destination for an American love story, as guests travelled thousands of miles to celebrate in the heart of the English countryside.
The celebrations began the night before with a rehearsal dinner at a charming local pub, where guests fully embraced British tradition. Fascinators and hats were encouraged (and enthusiastically worn!). While traditional Morris dancers brought energy, colour, and a wonderfully quirky English welcome. Seeing the Cotswolds through their eyes reminded me just how unique and special this part of the world is.
The wedding day itself was effortlessly elegant. With a timeless black-tie dress code perfectly suited to the grandeur of Sudeley Castle. Hope and Tristan chose to marry in the intimate castle church, steeped in history. It’s famously the burial place of Catherine Parr. Making the ceremony even more meaningful, Tristan’s father acted as celebrant, creating a deeply personal and emotional moment.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the stunning rose garden, surrounded by blooming florals and golden Cotswold stone. The celebrations then continued in the Orangery for the wedding breakfast. Light-filled, romantic, and the perfect setting for heartfelt speeches and unforgettable moments. And a banging party lead by Tux Fizz!
A Sudeley Castle wedding truly offers the best of the Cotswolds: history, beauty, and an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate. For Hope and Tristan, it was the perfect blend of destination magic and meaningful connection—one I feel so lucky to have captured so close to home.
