Bex & Dom chose to host their destination wedding at the gorgeous Dordogne venue, Chateau Du Doux. And what are the odds that I would book this wedding? Before booking me, I already had a wedding in Bordeaux booked for a couple days after. So when this Dordogne enquiry dropped in my inbox, I knew it was fate! Sometimes, the stars just align. Extending the work trip to capture Bex & Dom’s wedding was divine timing. Also a reminder that sometimes it’s just meant to be!
If you’re dreaming of a fairytale wedding, look no further than Chateau du Doux in the heart of Dordogne! Picture-perfect vibes? Check! Owned by a British family to avoid language barriers? Check! This 17th-century castle is a dream venue for capturing your love story. The lush gardens and vintage charm make every shot a masterpiece. Imagine saying ‘I do’ with the French countryside as your backdrop. And from the top of the hill, the ceremony space has the dream viewpoint! It’s a photographer’s paradise! From intimate moments to grand celebrations, this chateau sets the scene for love. Trust me, I’ve captured magic here. Just scroll down to see for yourself. The sunset just hits different here. Chateau du Doux is where the enchantment begins!
The sun was then shining bright for the ceremony. A stroke of luck since there was a thunderstorm the day before! In fact, the sun was so harsh that the couple had to wear their sunglasses for their vows! Heat and harsh light is the reality for a lot of destination weddings. Which is why many venues encourage a later start time! It’s fairly common for a destination wedding in high season to start around 4/5pm.
It also blows my mind that Bex & Dom were able to plan their dream wedding in just six months!
