This trip was the most spontaneous moment of 2022. And maybe my life! On a Saturday in October, my photographer friend Emily asked me if I wanted to join her on a shoot. In Laglio, Lake Como. In just a couple days! I was shooting a wedding at the time, frantically asking family if they would be able to watch my son for a few days and searching for potential flights! By Sunday I had booked my ticket, and then on Monday at 4am I started by journey to Italy!
We finally arrived at our venue, Villa Regina Teodolinda, in the early afternoon. And it was pouring with rain! Thankfully, the following day (shoot day) was clear with stunning autumn light. The villa had the perfect rustic interior, coupled with that classic lakeside view! My favourite part of the day was the boat trip. After all, if you’re in Lake Como, you almost have to! The golden light shone on Daria and Riccardo as they sat perched on the back of the boat.
It was a dream come true to be a Lake Como wedding photographer for the day. Here’s hoping that opportunities like this will keep coming my way! I am so grateful for all my destination clients choosing me to capture their special day. I have shot real weddings all over Europe, from Italy to France. Switzerland to Portugal. And also more ones to come in 2023!
And just one final international trip this year, an elopement in Zermatt. Watch this space as I’ll surely be posting about that too!
