Sarah & Jonathan’s wedding celebrations started at their cocktail drinks prior to the big day. They chose Domaine Croix-Duplex and its panoramic views to welcome their guests (most of whom are international) to Switzerland. Portes Des Iris is a stunning wedding venue, but it lacks the incredible lake views. The vineyards, with the lake and mountains in the background, make a breathtaking backdrop for a couple shoot.
The ceremony and wedding reception took place in a Swiss farmhouse. The main building is colourful with charming details. Like the traditional fountain and wooden shutters. A rustic barn next to the house made the perfect backdrop for their emotional vows. Sarah & Jonathan could not have picked a clearer day to get married! The guests then gathered outside on the beautiful terrace for canopes and champagne. Their loved ones showered the couple with congratulations and well wishes. And also exchanged stories with old and new friends. It was a fairly small group of people. So everyone could easily mingle!
Sarah & Jonathan had a lowkey first dance shortly after speeches, whilst guests stayed sat down at their tables. We then headed outside for group photos and couple portraits! It was early evening and yet the sun was still very bright. I used the shaded side of the farmhouse for the family and friends photos. And after, we explored the surrounding area for the perfect couple shots. We even drove 10 minutes away for some lakeside photos to end the day!
It was such a blessing to finally shoot a real wedding in Switzerland. My second home! Fingers crossed I book another one soon.
