Manor By The Lake was one of my first jobs as a wedding photographer back in 2018. And what a pleasure it is to be back! As a Cheltenham based wedding photographer, it’s amazing to have such a lovely venue locally.
This day is far from what Ed and Ella initially imagined. At first, I was booked for a winter wedding in February. But with the UK going into full lockdown again, a postponement was inevitable. This brought us to a fine May day. And my first full day wedding back of 2021! The sun was shining. In fact, the weather was so ideal they had an outdoor ceremony! As outdoor restrictions are more relaxed, guests were able to witness the couples vows without wearing a mask. Which meant I captured my first uncovered guest reactions since last July!
The day started with a relaxed bridal prep in a quirky and colourful cottage on site. Just Ella, her one bridesmaid and her mother. They then moved into the Manor’s official bridal suite to get into the dress, where they also popped a bottle of celebratory champagne.
Next, it was time for the ceremony. With the maximum allowed 30 guests, sat outside and socially distanced with chairs separated, it was the closest experience I’ve had to a pre-covid wedding. The guests were also able to support the couple with encouraging smiles.
After, they were then able to mingle in the gardens. We Are 24K played live music underneath a gazebo whilst everyone else enjoyed the sunshine. Lots of laughter. And lots of drinks. Followed by a sit down meal in the Manor’s stunning wood panelled room. The Father of the Bride, Best Man & Groom all gave their traditional speeches, and then it was time for ‘party’ to begin. Ella & Ed swayed to their first dance, and the rest of their guests soon joined them on the dancefloor.
Overall, a wonderful come back. I further can’t wait to see what the rest of 2021 holds.
