Sam & Chloe

Posted in: Real Wedding

Sam and Chloe have been together since they were teenagers; a decade and a child later they finally made the time to acknowledge their lifelong commitment to each other in front of ALL their loved ones. The importance of family and friends sharing this moment was clearly at the forefront of their wedding, with an extensive guest list and a whole TEAM of both bridesmaids and groomsmen. As a larger wedding, it would have been easy for the bride and groom to get swept away and lose each other amongst all the guests, but it was lovely to see them side by side throughout the day! Whether they were getting competitive laser clay pigeon shooting or swaying on the dance-floor, they were inseparable (as it should be on your wedding day)!

The style of the wedding was predominately traditional, but with some twists! Although Chloe opted for an elegant lace dress and long veil, and a polished bun, she also put her own spin on it by dyeing her hair pink. The ceremony was held at their local church, but then the reception was at Prescott Hill Climb, a venue usually booked for motor racing and vintage car meets. Instead of a classic tiered wedding cake, they presented a bunch of cupcakes around one gargantuan cupcake. And they chose the perfect first dance song, Angels by Danny Worsnop (an unusual choice as he’s known for hard rock and heavy metal, but the unexpected nature of it is one of the reasons I LOVE this song choice). Honestly, I’d never heard of it before, it’s a song Sam found and it almost felt like it had been written specifically for them. At the start of their relationship, Sam and Chloe had to endure long distance, with Chloe staying in their hometown, Winchcombe, while Sam was posted to the Falklands. One of the lines in the song goes: ‘When there are oceans between us, her voice feels like home and pulls me back to her’. If you haven’t heard it, go on Spotify, Apple Music, whatever music streaming service you prefer, and listen to it. It’s an absolutely beautiful song.

My favourite photos from the day are the groomsmen photos and the couple portraits. Chloe and Sam have an incredible chemistry and this connection shows in their photos. We timed it perfectly for golden hour, and the colours are just incredible. Scroll to the end to see for yourself!
